In an age when clean, renewable energy is not just an option but a responsibility, we knew there had to be a better way to empower homeowners to make sustainable choices. That’s why we founded Texas Premier Solar.

The Spark that Ignited the Fire
Our co-founder, Alexander Beer, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our mission. Having worked in various solar companies, Alexander witnessed firsthand the challenges consumers face when navigating the complex world of renewable energy. He saw that too often, companies prioritized sales over education and pressure over customer satisfaction. Driven to change this narrative, Alexander envisioned a company founded on the principles of honest education and exemplary service. Thus, Texas Premier Solar was born.

You’ll receive a scheduling call from one of our auditors to come review your property and to discuss which areas of your home we will need access to in order to give a thorough inspection. Once they arrive, they will check your roof, attic, electrical panel, utility meter, and other areas of your property that might pertain to your installation. Once your site-auditor is done, he or she will submit the information they gathered to Freedom Forever so we can design your new solar system.

System Design

At this point, we are hard at work designing your system and its recommended placement. Once you receive your proposed system design, you’ll be able to comment and ask questions.

When the design has been approved, we go ahead and get the necessary permits to build it. Then it’s time to schedule your installation.

Installation Day

It’s installation day! It doesn’t take us long to install your new solar system, usually only a day or two. We will make sure to call you beforehand to go over any important information.

Please take note of any access requirements during this call for your installation. We will show up, build your system, and then notify the AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) to come inspect your new system.

Final Inspection

Now it’s time to get your home solar system inspected and approved. We got this part covered! You don’t have to do a thing. We’re working with the local jurisdiction to establish a date for your final inspection. Once scheduled, our Inspection Technician and a city inspector will come out and inspect your system.

After determining that the system is up to code, the City Inspector will then mark your inspection as complete and you’re one step closer!

Why do people go solar?

There are several reasons to go solar but the main reasons are the potential savings, what it can do to the home’s value and, of course, the environmental benefit. Solar can also add predictability to your life by locking in how much you pay for your system’s energy.
Tax-Credit

Tax Credits and Incentives for Going Solar

The Federal Tax credit for solar power currently allows you to deduct up to 30% of the cost of your solar system from the tax you owe at the end of the year. If you owe less than 30% of the price you paid for your system, you will only receive the amount that you owed. You can carry any remaining amount of the credit forward for up to 5 years. If you owe nothing at the end of the year, then you won’t get anything out of the tax credit.

Some states offer incentives for going solar. The best way to find out what incentives are available, and which ones you qualify for is to talk to a qualified tax expert. Texas Premier Solar itself can not give you tax advice. A qualified tax professional will understand your situation and be able to give you the most relevant advice.

Better for the environment: Most of the time, people go solar for financial reasons. But they are still helping to save the environment. Solar panels make up for the amount of carbon used to produce them in about 2 years. For the remaining decades of service life left in them, they reduce the amount of carbon produced to make electricity.

How solar works

Now that you know the benefits of going solar, it’s time to know exactly how it works. Getting educated on the process of going solar can help you make the most informed decision, and that’s our goal!

🌞 Ever Wonder How Solar Energy Works? 🌞

We all use electricity every day, but have you ever wondered how it reaches your home? More importantly, how does this process change when you switch to solar power?

In this video, Alexander Beer breaks down how you go from being dependent on large power plants to becoming your own sustainable energy source! Transform your home and make use of the sun’s abundant, free energy.

Solar Panels

Solar panels convert sunlight to DC electricity.

Conversion of Energy

The inverter converts DC electricity to AC.

Electric Distribution

Power is distributed and consumed throughout your household. Any excess power is sent back to the grid for your neighbors use.

Energy Metering

This measures the amount of power produced during the day.

System Monitoring

This tracks your energy efficiency and helps gauge how effective your solar panels are working.

Frequently asked questions

Yes, but your utility bill will likely be a lot smaller, or maybe even a bill credit if you generate more power than you use. With most utility companies, if you have left-over bill credits at the end of the year, you’ll get a check for the amount of those credits. Most solar power systems are designed to full offset. That means they are designed to produce as much power as the home uses, so the homeowner doesn’t end up paying for electricity. You will still be responsible for any non-bypassable charges your utility company adds to your bill. A non-bypassable charge is a fee that the utility company adds to your bill. Those fees are often used for grid maintenance and infrastructure upgrades.

For most grid-tied solar power systems, the answer is no. The system is connected to the grid and your home. In the event of a blackout, the solar power system has a special cut-off to prevent electricity from being sent into damaged electrical grid wiring. It’s a safety feature that protects line workers that are working to restore the power. Batteries are covered by their manufacturer’s warranty, they are not included in Texas Premier Solar / Freedom Forever’s 25-year production guarantee.

Solar panels need very little maintenance. If they get covered by dust, snow or any other natural debris, you can usually wait for it to fall off on its own. In extreme cases, there are services you can hire to clean your panels for you, which we recommend once a year.

It’s easy! Just use less power than your solar panels produce. If you live in an area with Time-of-Use billing, be sure to minimize your use of electricity during peak rate hours. You can also make upgrades to your home to include electric heat pumps, electric heaters, etc to ensure you are using only the power you produce. In some cases, we can add additional systems if roof space allows.

Most solar systems including those built by Texas Premier Solar / Freedom Forever are warrantied to last for 25 years. It’s very likely that your system will last longer than that. There are 40 year old solar systems out there that are still going strong, producing about 75 – 80% of the power they were originally designed to produce. As they age, solar panels lose about 0.5 – 1% of their power output per year. Thus it’s very likely that your solar system will outlast its warranty.
